I spent £600 on a Vinted mystery box full of vintage clothes – but everyone says I was ripped off and got ‘ugly’ jumpers
A BARGAIN hunter who took a chance by forking out £600 on a mystery box full of vintage clothes from Vinted has shared whether it was really worth the money.
Becky Chorlton, who is from North West England, has previously told how she makes up to £2k a month from car boot sales – but she’s now turned her attention to second-hand site, Vinted, too.
In a video posted to TikTok (@beckysbazaar), the 25-year-old explains: “I bought £600-worth of vintage clothing – let’s unbox it together and find out if it’s worth it…”
She then asks: “Was it worth £600?”
In the clip, she can be seen unpacking two massive cardboard boxes filled with vintage clothing, before holding the garments up one-by-one to the camera.
At the top of the pile is an off-white Adidas hoodie, which features a dark brown emblazoned logo across the front.
Next up is a dark grey Nike spell-put sweater, followed by a Champion black round-neck sweater.
The fashion whizz then holds up a brightly coloured Adidas zip up which features range of colours – including pink, turquoise and grey.
Not stopping there, there’s also a plain grey Reebok sweater, followed by a light brown Puma zip up jumper featuring the sport brand’s popular logo, and a Burberry shirt, complete with the popular all-over check design.
Back to sportswear, there’s another beige Adidas jumper, a bright orange jumper with ‘Reebok’ boldly written across the front, a red Nike T-shirt and Nike brown hoodie.
There’s also a white, blue and red Fila Moto jacket, navy blue Adidas sweater, red Reebok quarter-zip, and a red, white and blue Nike zip up.
The post quickly went viral, racking up over 62k views and several comments – with very mixed reviews.
It turns out not everyone was impressed with the selection of vintage clothes that Becky received – and took issue with the sizes and styles.
“No designer? It’s all ugly jumpers,” wrote one.
A second queried: “But it all looks XXXXXL?”
A third admitted: “I’d be so p***ed.”
Elsewhere, others were keen to know where they could get their hands on the second-hand goods.
“Can you share your supplier?” pleaded one.
A second asked: “Will these be going in your Depop?”
Becky replied: “i’ll be selling them live on whatnot (there’s a link in my bio where you’ll get a free £10 to spend on the live).”
