You can’t trust ANYONE in the villa, they all play games’ reveals Jake Cornish as he takes swipe at All Stars cast
LOVE Island ‘villain’ Jake Cornish has taken a swipe at his fellow islanders ahead of entering the All Stars villa.
Jake, 26, made a pointed dig at how nobody on the show can be ‘trusted’, just days before the launch episode on Monday night.
Speaking to The Sun and other press, Jake admitted he is going to have his wits about him during his second stint on the show and he doesn’t think any of the All Stars will have his back in the ruthless game of love.
He said: “If there is another lad in there who I get on with, and his ex turns up, I’ll be like, ‘I don’t really want to step on my lad’s toes.’ But I don’t know. you can’t trust anyone in there, you can’t trust anyone!
“I think the girls stick with the girls and the boys stick with the boys, but I ain’t really friends with a lot of people from the show. I’m not.
“I’ve done my own thing since and I’ve gone down my own route. I’ll be interested to see what kind of games people play, as I know they will.”
If drama comes his way, Jake says he will meet it head on.
“If any drama happens I’ll always get stuck in, day one,” he promised. “I’m always getting stuck in I’m on telly. I’m on telly. Like I don’t wanna be like the boring fella.”
Jake proved quite the divisive character during his last stint in the villa.
He got with Liberty Poole on day one, and they were initially popular with viewers and were known by the nickname ‘Jiberty’.
But Jake was soon accused of being a ‘gaslighter’ when he hinted he wasn’t actually attracted to Liberty.
Just days before the final, the pair left the villa single as a devastated Liberty decided she couldn’t continue if Jake wasn’t 100% into her.
Reflecting on the furore, Jake admitted: “Obviously there were things on there that I probably shouldn’t have said. But not everyone’s perfect. Everyone has done something wrong in their life.”
But he has no time for anyone who judges him based on those eight weeks of television back in the summer of 2021.
“If you think someone is something off the back of a tv show, then you need to kind of open your eyes. If someone decides they don’t like me without actually knowing me, that’s up to them,” Jake declared.
“I know lots of people on TV who are completely differently on telly to how they are in real life, a lot of people. So if that’s how people what to think about me, that’s their opinion and they’re entitled to it.”
Love Island All Stars starts Monday at 9pm on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX
