Lamar Jackson is the betting favorite (sorry, Patrick Mahomes) to take home Super Bowl 58 MVP
Every year, certain sports betting markets open earlier and earlier — and anything relating to the Super Bowl certainly fits the bill. After all, the longer a market is open, the more money bettors can wager on it.
This season, sportsbooks began offering odds on the Super Bowl 58 at the beginning of the postseason — far before we even knew the matchup.
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson opened as the favorite at +400, and remains the favorite at +250 odds, with only four teams remaining. San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (+325) and Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (+350) have the next-best odds.
At BetMGM sportsbooks, Jackson has the most tickets (15.2 percent) and by far the most dollars wagered (31.9 percent), which makes him the biggest liability to win the award at BetMGM. Christian McCaffrey (+600) has the second-biggest liability, followed by Detroit Lions DE Aiden Hutchinson (125-1).
It’s widely expected that Jackson will win his second regular-season NFL MVP this season.
Super Bowl 58 will take place on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
