Berkshire County to receive millions for flood recovery
BERKSHIRE COUNTY, Mass. (NEWS10) -- Some communities in Berkshire County have received funding to help recover from flooding in the summer of 2023.
North Adams was the largest recipient. It was given $1.225 million after heavy rain caused flooding in July.
More than a dozen roads were damaged, and several basements were flooded. Three homes needed to be evacuated. A landslide on Church Street pulled a gas line and washed out the driveway at one home.
Nine other Berkshire County communities received a portion of $10 million from Massachusetts. They include:

- Becket-$315,000
- Clarksburg-$575,000
- Dalton-$20,000
- Hinsdale-$45,000
- North Adams-$1,225,000
- Peru-$20,000
- Sandisfield-$20,000
- Sheffield-$20,000
- Washington-$20,000
The commonwealth allocated a total of $15 million for flood recovery in this year's budget.
