This Morning’s Spin To Win descends into chaos as fans brand segment ’embarrassing’
THIS Morning fans branded the daily Spin To Win segment “embarrassing” as the ITV show descended into chaos.
New ITV host Sian Welby, 37, had a mixed start to her stint on the competition wheel on Tuesday.
After Birmingham-based contestant Jane answered the phone with the correct pass-code, Sian spun a cash win of £750 – with the top prize £3,000.
Yet the This Morning segment came unstuck when Jane attempted to win the additional haul of show goodies.
She was asked to name the telly chef on today’s show, which was John Torode.
Yet Jane confessed she’d had the telly “on low” due to working from home, with host Dermot O’Leary then trying to give her a host of clues.
He even adopted an Aussie accent, but to no avail.
After he told the final clue was: “If Gino D’Acampo had an Australian uncle… it’s John Torode,” it was the final straw for the host.
He told the caller: “His name’s John Torode,” yet even then Jane replied: “No, I can’t think.”
Fans watching at home became hugely frustrated and took to X to air their views.
One ranted: “B****y hell, who does Jane work for? Embarrassing!!!”
A second quizzed: “Are they that desperate to get rid of that tatt?” as a third posted: “Just give her the bag of shizzle FFS!!”
Another recounted the conversation and put: “‘His name’s John Torode.’ ‘No, I can’t think…’ Ffs…”
One continued: “Just give her the flipping bag jeez.”
Another then raged: “Are you serious?! Dermot literally said John Torode and she STILL didn’t get it! lol,” as another emphasised: “He’s literally just said his name.”
One then mused: “Has Jane ever watched this show before.”
On Monday, Spin To Win was also subject to a huge shake-up.
It came as Hollywood superstar Austin Butler took charge of the competition wheel.
Yet, like Sian, he could only manage a £750 spin.
