Princess Lilibet, two, ‘set to inherit £38k fashion gift from Meghan Markle’ – and there’s a nod to Princess Diana
IT’S not just great genetics Princess Lilibet has got from her mum, Meghan Markle – the two-year-old tot is also set to inherit a very lavish fashion collection from her, a royal author has claimed.
There’s no doubt the Duchess of Sussex is one of the most fashionable celebs out there, whether that’s looking fierce in a power suit or oozing elegance in a sparkly evening gown.
But although her wardrobe is indeed fit for a royal, her jaw-dropping handbag collection, thought be to worth around £38k, is just as stunning – and one of those we may see sporting the purses in the future is her daughter, Lilibet.
Speaking to Fabulous, royal author Phil Dampier said: ”I’m sure Lilibet will eventually inherit Meghan’s amazing handbag collection, and indeed many of her designer clothes.
”Some of these labels are incredible investments these days and will only increase in value.”
According to the expert, the impressive collection boasts styles that are ”timeless” – and ”therefore always in fashion”.
”And the fact that their owner was famous adds to their kudos,” the royal guru noted, adding that the 42-year-old fashionista ”will undoubtedly keep them all in point condition to eventually hand on to her daughter”.
So, what elegant purses and bags can the tot expect to find in her wardrobe at some point?
DeMellier Mini Venice – £370
The stunning mum certainly made heads turns in Cardiff, Wales, where she was spotted sporting a chic forest green ‘Venice’ handbag by British leather goods company DeMellier.
DeMellier London founder Mireia Llusia-Lindh told HELLO!: “We are truly honoured that Meghan is wearing one of our bags, she is a fantastic role model to women all over the world and a great addition to the Royal family.”
Rejina Pyo ‘Nane’ bag – £354
Although Meghan is certainly not afraid to embrace bold colours, she’s also a fan of a more neutral aesthetic – and her surprise appearance at an International Women’s Day event in London is just one of the many examples.
Here, the Royal and the actress, who now lives in the USA, had styled a chic cream blazer with a cream-coloured Rejina Pyo ‘Nane’ bag, which has since been sold out.
Oroton crossbody – £254
Nothing’s more essential than a practical crossbody bag – and Meghan knows how to wear it in style, leaving royal fans open-mouthed.
Attending the Commonwealth Youth Forum, where she arrived wearing a striped dress by Altuzarra and a black blazer by Camilla & Mark, the 42-year-old fashionista was rocking AvaZip Top Cross body bag by Australian brand Oroton.
This little black and white number is no longer available – however, you can bag ‘Muse’ Double Zip Crossbody that’s a similar option.
Everlane leather tote – £270
During an appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada, with Prince Harry, Meghan wore a simple yet elegant outfit – a pair of denim bottoms, a white shirt, chic pumps and, of course, the star of the show, the Everlane Day tote in brown.
Powder box bag – £1,500
The stylish mum stunned fans of the family at Sandringham, where she was dressed from top to toe in a smart Victoria Beckham ensemble.
The all-black outfit also consisted of a cute VB Powder Box bag, which was around £1500.
Mulberry bags – £1,840
Over the years, the stylish Duchess seems to have become a fan of the designer brand Mulberry, regularly seen with a number of their items, including the Clifton shoulder bag, Bayswater tote and the Darley crossbody – the latter of which is a firm favourite for Kate Middleton, too.
Bottega Veneta wallet – £710
Although it’s not necessarily a bag, this stunning woven wallet is just gorgeous – it simply had to be added to the list.
Meghan was spotted with the Bottega Veneta black wallet in her hand in Los Angeles in December 2021, and we’ve been obsessed ever since.
Three Strathberry bags – £1,635
Those who follow the Royal family will know that Meghan has a special place in her heart for the Strathberry bags – she’s reported to have three in her collection so far.
During her first official engagement in Nottingham, we all went wild for the Strathberry burgundy Midi tote bag that the stunner had gone for – so wild, that the bag soon sold out.
Other bags in her wardrobe include a another Midi totw in burgundy, as well as the Strathberry East-West shoulder bag.
Gucci handbags – £1,860
Back in 2018, the Duchess arrived for her Australian tour with two Gucci bags – a gorgeous Gucci ‘Sylvie’ mini bag, and the Gucci Dionysus bag for an evening event.
Unfortunately, the Sylvie bag is out of stock on the Gucci website – however, you can still nab it second-hand from Handbag Clinic for a little over £1k.
Diana-inspired Dior ‘Lady D’ – £3,500
The show-stopper of a collection also features a nod to Princess Diana – an adorable Lady D-Lite bag by Christian Dior.
The mum was spotted wearing the stunning £3,500 bag whilst attending the Global Citizen Live event in New York City.
Gabriela Hearst bag – £1,695
Named after the American music icon Nina Simone, the Gabriela Hearst Nina bag is the accessory we will certainly never forget because of its very unique shape.
The true statement piece boasts a smooth suede lining and will instantly add an interesting detailing to any outfit.
Roger Vivier tote – £870
If there’s one look we certainly will never forget it’s Meghan’s all-red moment that made heads turn during an appearance for the TODAY show.
The stylish mum wore a chic red frock paired with black sunnies and a timeless a Roger Vivier black tote.
Charlotte Elizabeth handbag – £360
We love seeing Meghan supporting British designers and amongst them is also Charlotte Elizabeth whose Bloomsbury bag the Royal wore for a visit to Northern Ireland.
The chestnut bag features gold detailing on the front and it’s a number that will never go out of style.
Fendi Peekaboo Essentials bag – £3,800
Amongst some of the most expensive items in her collection certainly is her beloved Fendi Peekaboo Essentials briefcase, which is more pricey than a second-hand car.
Styled with a chic and smart grey dress, Meghan had paired the bag with black pumps, which she wore during a visit to meet Irish President and his wife in Dublin.

Givenchy is a firm favourite for many celebs and Hollywood stars, amongst whom is also the Duchess of Sussex.
Attending a posh ‘Oceania’ exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, fans spotted Meghan carrying their Black Satin Clutch, which retails for an eye-watering £1,500.
Jimmy Choo Black ‘J Box’ Clutch – £830
Another high-end purse we’ve seen in her lavish wardrobe includes a pricey Jimmy Choo number, which Meghan had worn during an Anzac Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
The mum-of-two looked incredible in a top to toe black outfit, which she had completed with black ‘J Box’ Clutch costing £830.
White Metropolitan Insignia Small Clutch – £720
Meghan also loves her pastels, such as her stunning White Metropolitan Insignia Small Clutch, which she wore on the royal balcony a few years ago.

Meanwhile, whilst attending the late Queen‘s Young Leaders Awards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, the Duchess arrived in a powder-pink Prada two-piece.

A bespoke Dior clutch – £1,400
Meghan is sure to make heads turn wherever she goes – and a royal attendance at the RAF 100 service held at Westminster Abbey was no exception.
Here, the fashionista was seen sporting a black frock which she had teamed with a bespoke Dior clutch.
