Padma Awards 2024: The Rashtrapati Bhavan has announced that the late Karpoori Thakur, former Chief Minister of Bihar, will be awarded the prestigious Bharat Ratna. Thakur, affectionately known as 'jannayak', held the position of Chief Minister from December 1970 to June 1971 and again from December 1977 to April 1979.
