The United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) disbanded itself as required in the peace agreement. The outfit's general secretary, Anup Chetia, announced the dissolution and offered an unconditional apology to the people of the state. The meeting also decided to hand over the arms and ammunitions to the government. ULFA was created in 1979 to form an 'independent Assam'.
