Jaylen Brown Broke Luka Dončić’s Ankles, and NBA Fans Were in Awe

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown scored 34 points on 13-of-22 shooting in Monday night’s 119–110 win over the Dallas Mavericks, but one particular highlight play stole the show in the victory.

Brown was being defended by Mavericks star Luka Dončić, when he faked a drive to his right, put the ball behind his back and sent Dončić to the floor.

Brown then squared up and hit the open jumper, leaving the home crowd in Dallas speechless.

To make matters worse, the Mavericks’ video board operator showed the replay of the team’s franchise player getting his ankles broken, much to the chagrin of teammate Tim Hardaway Jr..

Hardaway was furious, audibly yelling, “Don’t show that s---!” when the replay came on the screen.

Brown was asked about the play after the game and said he was just trying to be aggressive offensively. He also credited Dončić for squaring up and attempting to play good defense, noting that any defender could find himself on the wrong side of such a play.

But Brown’s best line came when he was told that the Mavericks showed the replay on the video screen.

“[They showed it] here? Nah, I didn’t notice that,” Brown said with a smile. “That’s crazy. Somebody has gotta get fired if they did that.”
