MAGA mocked as they choose between Taylor Swift and Pelosi's San Francisco at Super Bowl
Those on the right were ridiculed on Sunday night as the 2024 Super Bowl began pitting the Kanas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers.
The moment came after a conspiracy theory was launched about the Chiefs' participation having to do with a CIA operation involving Taylor Swift and her refusal to support Donald Trump in both 2020 and 2024. Among the conspiracies is that Super Bowl 58, when added together, 5+8=13 and "13" is the name of Taylor Swift's album, as FoxNews.com explained this week.
Either way, it puts conservatives in a position where they must either support Swift's team, for whom her boyfriend Travis Kelce plays, and a San Francisco team championed by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-C.A.), who flew to Las Vegas for the big game.
"I don’t usually root for the Kansas City Cultural Appropriations but the possibility of Taylor Swift making incel heads explode is too delicious to resist," quipped legal analyst Elie Mystal.
"Taylor Swift or Nancy Pelosi, the libs can't lose," posted Andrew Fleischman.
Former attorney general candidate Daniel Uhlfelder pointed out the factoid to conservatives as well.
"MAGA, Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi are cheering for San Francisco 49ers," he said.
NBC News' Danny Cevallos noted the mistake of not showing enough of the Kelce fan during the game. "They are not showing enough Taylor in this game. At least 1/5 of the audience is tuning in just for her."
Another account (@DC_Draino) was shredded after tweeting a meme of "Team Jesus" showing a San Francisco player and "Team Soros" with Kelce and Swift.
"MAGA calling the team that represents the city of San Francisco as 'Team Jesus' is the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen," laughed Hayden Clarkin.
Among the things being passed around social media was a fake tweet purporting to be from Swift attacking Donald Trump for being a white supremacist. Swift's account never sent the tweet. It first appeared on June 25, 2023, from someone named @midnighttrain, who identifies themselves as a Swiftie.
"After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?" the tweet that was never posted by Swift says. "'When the looting starts the shooting starts'??? We will vote you out in November. @360sbrat"
Nov. 5, 2023, an account claiming to be a data analytics account claimed for the first time that the tweet came from Swift. It did not. The account then falsely claimed, "This tweet received a whopping 2,040,177 likes!"
Over the course of several months, a group of other accounts without real names or with a lot of numbers and few followers then posted the quote, falsely attributing it to Swift. By Super Bowl Sunday, someone had mocked up a fake screen capture and was passing it around as well.
