‘Turn down the brightness by like 4’ people say as bloke shows off £4k temporary Turkey teeth he got for ‘vanity’
A MAN has been brutally trolled after proudly showing off his £4k temporary teeth he got in Turkey.
Dave Chudley, better known to fans for his tattoo-related content, took to TikTok to share the brand new pearly whites – however, the reaction wasn’t all positive.
According to the ink whizz, his natural gnashers had ”always been in a great condition” – and even the expert at the dental clinic in Turkey was impressed with his ”thick and strong” teeth.
But although there was a minor chip on one of his front tooth that he’d got fixed around four times, Dave’s teeth were never in a ”poor condition” and that was not the reason he’d opted for the £4k makeover.
”It’s not why I got it done,” he recently explained in a video posted on his platform, adding it was all in the name of ”vanity”.
Although there was the option of choosing Invisalign or to simply have the natural pearly whites whitened in the UK, Dave claimed this was not something he’d wanted.
Instead, the tattoo fan jetted off to Turkey, which has become one of the hottest destinations for makeovers on the cheap, and forked out thousands for porcelain veneers.
After his real teeth had been filed down, Dave admitted they’d become ”very sensitive” and he found the fitting of the temporary gnashers anything but ”pleasant”.
Once the temporary teeth had been put in, the ink super fan noted they felt ”pretty awkward” and he also struggled to consume solid foods due to the strange sensation.
”Could only have soup, eating felt very awkward,” Dave shared his experience on the platform.
Although the tattoo whizz is yet to post the reveal of the final pearly whites – which he’s been told will last for ”15-20 years” – there’s already been a huge reaction on social media.
Hundreds of TikTok users have since raced to comments to share their thoughts, which has left everyone totally divided.
One person, for instance, was in two minds, writing: ”One of the better sets I’ve seen.
”Turn the brightness down like 4 and they would look so real.”
Another warned: ”8 to 10 years all those crowns will need to be taken out dentures, I’m afraid, happened to me.”
Someone else chimed in: ”You destroyed all of your teeth for temporary veneers – you’ll have no teeth when those are gone.”
”Here’s an idea kids, just look after your teeth and then you can look and laugh at plastic looking Turkey teeth,” a fourth penned.
However, not everyone was mocking the temporary smile, as one told Dave: ”Mate, they look great.”
”They actually look really good! Not like fake piano keys,” someone else added.
”They look very natural! In fact I’m very surprised these are Turkish teeth!” another couldn’t believe the difference between the Before and After snaps.
What to know before getting your teeth done in Turkey
Although thousands of Brits flock abroad every year in hopes for a new set of pearly whites, dental experts have warned of the dangers of travelling to Turkey for this dental treatment.
This is because veneers are not permanent – however, the procedure to fit them is irreversible.
To get the so-called Turkey teeth, your natural gnashers will have to be filed down in order to accommodate the new veneers.
As your natural tooth enamel will not grow back, you will always require some kind of veneer to be fitted.
Harley Street Smile Clinic told The Liverpool Echo: “Our clinic has been inundated over the last couple of years with young people who have been misled by bargain cosmetic dental centres in Turkey.
Problems with 'Turkey teeth'
- Intense long-lasting pain
- Overly sensitive teeth
- Exposed nerves
- Ill-fitting veneers can be too big or too small
- Infected gums, which can spread to the sinuses and even to the bone if left untreated
- Rotting teeth
- Excessive swelling
- Poorly bonded veneers can fall off easily
“Having been left with the harsh reality of a lifetime of dental work, costing far beyond the cost of having veneers done in the UK, often our clients have no idea what work they’ve actually had done, or what’s involved in rectifying the issue.”
Dr Maurice Johannes, Principle Dentist at Harley Street Smile Clinic, echoed the worries, saying: “I can’t stress enough that people need to be 100% clear about exactly what they are signing up for when they go abroad for cosmetic dental treatment.
“Although patients are under the impression they are having veneers, in reality they are having crowns placed, which means much more aggressive tooth reduction.
“Katie [Price] may be happy with the finished look, but with this amount of tooth reduction it increases massively the risk of having nerve damage and root canal treatment.”
