JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) - A scam is making its rounds in Acadiana.

The Jennings Police Department is warning residents and business owners of a possible scam regarding past-due water bills. Authorities say the scammers claim the individual failed to pay their account and requires payment over the phone. Officials say this is not how the City of Jennings contacts customers.

Jennings Police officials say the scammers are difficult to track down. They encourage residents to call the agency directly to report these calls and to make sure to look up the number online.
