Trump spokesman's lurid post sparks public fight with Haley's camp
Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley's declaration that she refuses to “kiss the ring" of Donald Trump spurred the former president's spokesperson to lash out on social media with curses and insults.
"She’s going to drop down to kiss --- when she quits," former President Donald Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung tweeted Tuesday. "Like she always does."
Haley's campaign manager Betsy Ankney strike back with sarcasm.
“What a move," Ankney slapped back. "[Cheung] is the key to winning back suburban women!”
It appears for now Haley is determined to keep stumping beyond the Feb. 24 primary in South Carolina.
It appears Haley intends to keep making inroads on Trump at least until after March 5, when the results of Super Tuesday's election bonanza where more than a dozen contests will vote for the candidate they want to become the GOP nominee.
“This isn’t Russia," Haley has said. "We don’t want someone to go in and just get 99% of the vote...What is the rush? Why is everybody so panicked about me having to get out of this race?”
She also pointed to the fact that everyday Americans may grow tired of watching Trump face potential prison time if he's found guilty in any one of the three criminal state and federal cases lodged against him. That doesn't include the civil cases he's up against.
"He’s going to be in a courtroom all of March, April, May and June," she said. "How in the world do you win a general election when these cases keep going and the judgments keep coming?”
For President Biden, he was asked if he had a preference for either Haley or Trump come autumn, and he replied, “Oh, I don’t care."
Readers of Cheung's post cared about his message.
"Like Trump does Putin," commented Alex Cole.
"Steven, you will be unemployable when Trump is out of the picture," added Stinson Norwood. "Have you considered this eventuality?
