My road trip ‘bathroom’ trick means you’ll never be caught short – my girlfriend thinks I’m cheating on her but it works
A PROFESSIONAL traveler has shared a vital bathroom secret for drivers on a long-haul trip.
In a TikTok, the driver explained how he finds clean bathrooms on any route – but he had to explain the trick to get him out of trouble with his girlfriend.
“Here’s a little life hack for you,” the TikToker, Zach Underwood (@underhood10) said in a post.
“If you travel a lot, or you drive a lot like me, the best place stop use a bathroom: it’s not a gas station, it’s a hotel.”
Underwood, a Houston-based driver who frequently travels for his job, said he frequently stops at hotels when he needs a bathroom break.
He said hotels are easy to access along the highway.
He also pointed out that the bathrooms are cleaned frequently by employees.
The video, now with over 2,000 likes and 130 comments, inspired a group of people to chide the TikToker for telling secrets.
“Man, don’t tell people,” one commenter complained.
“It’s our secret.”
Another person joked its a “bonus if there’s a continental breakfast.”
GIRLFRIEND RESPONDS
In a second video, Underwood explained why his girlfriend got angry at the hotel driving tip.
“If your wife’s friends see you coming out a hotel you got a lot of explaining to do,” the TikToker explained.
Underwood said his girlfriend, who checks his phone’s live location, once caught him at a Hampton Inn.
He had to explain the quick stop wasn’t meant for extramarital relations.
“I guess I never told her that I do that,” Underwood said.
“Luckily [the conversation] went over smooth.”
LONG HAUL TIPS
Popular mechanics have also shared their driving tips for drivers set to hit the road for hours.
Scott Kilmer, a famous mechanic who has built up a gigantic YouTube following, said drivers must check their alternator before driving for hours.
“Your alternator supplies electricity to the car so if it goes bad your car will then run off the electricity from the battery,” he warned.
“If you’ve got one of these battery jump boxes, just connect it to the car.
“After it starts, if you disconnect the battery jump cable and it dies, that means the alternator is not working.”
