CT man found guilty of orchestrating shooting in an attempt to kill ex-girlfriend
A New London man was found guilty Tuesday of multiple charges including conspiracy to commit murder in connection with a 2019 shooting that reportedly targeted his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, officials said.
A New London Superior Court jury found Shaquan Lee-Seales, 30, guilty of two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of accessory to attempted murder, risk of injury and inciting injury to persons stemming from a 2019 shooting in New London, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.
Three individuals, identified as Bless Seales, Sakye Reels and Kion Wilbur, reportedly covered their faces while walking in the area of Third Avenue in New London on November 24, 2019, as one of them approached a building at 168 Third Ave., court records said.
That individual suddenly turned and ran as a surveillance camera caught a crack in the second-floor, street-side window, according to court records.
The New London Police Department’s dispatch center received a 911 call for shots fired at that residence. Responding officers reportedly found the broken window and a projectile resting on a closet shelf, court records said
Lee-Seales, who was in prison on an unrelated matter, had been placed on phone and mail review. According to court records, phone conversations and written letters reportedly showed that he had orchestrated the shooting in an attempt to kill his former girlfriend and her new boyfriend.
Lee-Seales’ sentencing is scheduled for April 20 in New London Superior Court, the DCJ said.
