‘You need this hack in your life’ – mum reveals ‘nappy’ car trick to help open car doors in tight parking spaces
A CAR genius has revealed a swish new way parents can avoid damaging their motor when trying to get their kids out of their car.
Aussie mum Kelly Arvan posted the clip online – dazzling followers who said the trick is “so smart” – showing the cheap damage-avoiding hack.
As the video plays, Kelly can be seen talking to the camera and explaining exactly how the hack works, before pulling out the essential item that’s needed for anyone wishing to try it.
She said: “If you’re ever parked too close to a car next to you, you need this hack in your life.”
The doting mum then explained that she was parked right next to a stranger’s motor and as a result would struggle to get her tot out the car without her door hitting the whip next to her.
Surprisingly, she pulls out a nappy and shows her followers how she can carefully place it in a particular position to ease the worry of damaging her motor.
She said: “When I want to get my baby out the car I use a nappy.”
She then places the nappy in between the outside of her car door and the stranger’s door before demonstrating how it works.
“The door does not scratch the car next to you, and the car next to you does not put paint on yours.
“Now I can get him out.”
Currently, a pack of nappies can set parents back £11 for a box of 80 at Tesco, making each dent-saving diaper only cost 14p – but even cheaper when realising each one can be used multiple times.
But it’s not just parents that can benefit from the hack, as she adds that the same thing can be done with an item every Brit should already have.
She said: “I use a nappy, you can use a sock.”
Commenters were quick to pounce on the post, all sharing their thoughts on the genius trick.
One user said: “I usually use my hand and my husband gets him but this is less painful.”
And a second user said: “That’s so smart, never thought of that.”
While a third user said: “Can you tell everyone in my town this hack please, my car is full of door scratches.”
Clever motor hacks are posted online thick and fast and each one could help cash-strapped Brits save vital cash while contending with the current cost-of-living crisis.
