Girl Scouts summer camp registration is open
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) opened up its summer camp registration for 2024. All three camps, Camp Is-Sho-Da in East Greenbush, Hidden Lake Camp in Lake George, and Lake Clear Camp in Lake Clear are open for registration.
Campers will be able to go hiking, swimming, boating, try high and low-rope courses, participate in archery, make arts and crafts, nature study, and more. They will also be able to participate in themed weeks like camp chefs, which will allow campers to explore camp cooking techniques.
GSNENY will offer two leadership training programs, the Counselor-In-Training (CIT), and the Waterfront-In-Training (WIT). CIT is for senior and ambassador Girl Scouts ready to embrace leadership. WIT is a week-long program for Girl Scouts looking to become skilled lifeguards or camp waterfront staff.
Hidden Lake Camp will have weekly sessions with overnight and day camps from July 7 through July 30. Lake Clear Camp will also have weekly sessions with overnight and day camps but will run from August 4 to August 20.
Camp Is-Sho-Da is a day camp that will run for six weeks from July 8 through August 16. Day camp transportation will be available for this camp.
Children who have turned five years old by December 1, 2023, are eligible for summer day camp. Camps serve all ages through high school graduation.
Those interested must register online. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit required to secure camp registration, closing two weeks before the start of each session.
GSNENY offers financial aid to registered Girl Scouts in the Council with financial needs. For more information, email customercare@girlscoutsneny.org or apply online.
