I’m a 60-year-old model – my ‘floating makeup’ technique gives me a flawless, velvet finish that hides wrinkles
A MODEL showed just how to give her more mature skin a show-stopping look with her anti-aging makeup routine.
She didn’t just sit back and wish her wrinkles away – she got to work removing the aging evidence with her technique.
“Do you know how to do the best anti-aging makeup which I call floating makeup?” asked Cynthia Gouw (@cynthiagouw).
“Yes, you do, because you follow me, Cynthia, your 60-your-old model and journalist giving you the straight tea on all things life and beauty,” said Cynthia Gouw (@cynthiagouw).
She described floating makeup as being makeup for the skin because it adds much-needed hydration.
“It floats above your skin, above your wrinkles and fine lines,” she said.
Cynthia’s technique involved using a foundation and mixing it with polyglutamic acid.
“As you can see, when I mix them together, it becomes this beautiful, soft velvetey texture that sits above my skin and gives me a flawless finish,” she said.
She continued on her magic makeover mission by using a liquid highlighter with some glow in it.
“Maybe I should call this floaty glowy makeup,” she said.
Cynthia placed the highlighter in a dotted pattern underneath her eyes as well as in an upward motion right above the end of her nose to her cheek area.
“And then I pull this up here so everything gets lifted,” she said.
She then added a little product down the nose line.
She then pulled out a liquid highlighter with a bronzed tint and made clear she was a fan of the very creamy variety – no sticks for her skin.
Cynthia added the makeup right below the cheek line and then a little around the forehead area before blending everything in.
She then shared her next obsession: blush.
She used the product to repeat her previous technique around the cheek area.
Cynthia admitted it looked a bit heavier at first but the blending – one of her favorite parts about floating makeup – took care of any imperfections so that it wouldn’t look cakey or dry.
She also applied her Tarte shape tape glow tape right underneath her brow bone as well as on the top of her cheekbone.
Cynthia was already loving her age-reversing results.
“See how glowy it looks – how floaty and glowy. When you’re 60 you’ve got to appreciate the small things,” she said.
The Tarte shape tape glow wand that sells for $32 at Ulta Beauty is described as offering a natural, lit-from-within youthful glow that brightens your features without glitter or shimmer.
The vegan buy that promises to instantly give you the appearance of eight hours of beauty sleep, had plenty of glowing reviews.
“This is my favorite shape tape. I have very nice skin and I like the water content in this product,” wrote one buyer.
“Gives the perfect amount of glow without looking glittery or greasy. Easy to blend,” said another purchaser.
And she proved she wasn’t messing around with her makeup look as she added all-day wear stay lipstick.
She might have advised against using a lip liner but she did add a $25 Buxom gloss that can be purchased on Amazon for an extra perfect and shiny pout.
“Always, always use lipgloss,” she said.
Her fans were certainly impressed with her model makeup trick.
“Sixty? You look great no matter age but omg that’s crazy,” said one follower.
“You look so beautiful,” another viewer agreed.
She was certainly standing by her floating makeup routine.
“It’s like giving your skin a tiny life jacket, keeping everything buoyant, fresh, and oh-so-flawless,” she said.
