I’m an interior designer – the three worst kitchen countertops, a beautiful and popular choice shows spills ‘forever’
FROM preparing meals to serving them, we use our kitchen countertops every day.
If you want to ensure your surfaces always look clean and pristine, steer clear of three popular styles.
In her video, Raquel Aparicio (@mardesignuk) explained why she would never opt for certain kitchen countertops.
Raquel is a qualified architect and the founder and creative thinker behind Mardesign.
For her first recommendation, the interior pro advised her followers to avoid having concrete countertops in their homes.
She explained that the material is extremely difficult to clean, making it less than ideal for preparing food.
“Any stain, any wine spilled, any grease will stay there forever and ever,” Raquel said.
She also recommended steering clear of marble countertops in your kitchen.
Raquel informed her audience that the material is also prone to staining.
“Unless you are prepared for marks of drips, spills, and pigment from food this is not a good choice as it will show if any of these sit too long on the surface,” she explained.
Finally, Raquel warned her audience against choosing stainless steel surfaces for their kitchen.
She explained that not only is stainless steel difficult to keep clean, but it is also prone to marks.
“Stainless steel scratches so easily, meaning that in six months you will be very sad looking at your beautiful kitchen with the horrible scratches and dents on the countertop,” she said.
