Apple just released a new sports app with integrated betting odds, and it's beautifully simple
Apple continued its push into sports Wednesday, releasing the new Apple Sports app for free download in the app store.
Apple Sports provides real-time scores and stats, and it’s personalized to display a user’s favorite leagues and teams on the front. That includes in-season leagues like the NBA, NHL, MLS and men’s and women’s college basketball. Others like the NFL, MLB, WNBA and college football will be available for their upcoming seasons, according to the press release.
Fans of betting will be happy to know the app also includes integrated odds. They’re provided by DraftKings and can be toggled off in the settings, a spokesperson told BetFTW.

“We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want — an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats,” Apple senior vice president of services Eddy Cue said. “Apple Sports is available for free in the App Store, and makes it easy for users to stay up to date with their favorite teams and leagues.”
According to the release, Apple Sports also gives fans an option to tap to go to the Apple TV app and watch live games from Apple and other connected apps.
From my quick browse through the app, it really is beautiful and cuts out a lot of the fat you find in other sports apps. It’s easy to navigate from league to league, and there are no ads or videos. It’s just scoreboards, and clicking on a scoreboard will give you more information like stats, play-by-play and even league standings. I haven’t seen how it works with live games in action yet, but if it’s as smooth as it looks, it’ll be a nice companion for sports fans.
