I put diaper cream on my face & you should too – forget Vaseline slugging, my method’s messy but my skin is baby-smooth
AN aesthetics physician’s assistant revealed her hack for getting baby-smooth skin is by using diaper cream on her face.
She said to forget about the days of Vaseline slugging because even though her method is unorthodox it works.
TikToker Eleni Sgantzos (@injectoreleni) said there’s no reason to suffer from dry skin during winter.
“Zinc oxide-based creams heal that barrier like a charm,” she wrote.
“Yes, it’s messy,” she continued. “Yes, I also don’t care because the results speak for themselves.”
Eleni said to “forget about” using Vaseline or Aquaphor for slugging, a technique where an occlusive product is slathered on the skin overnight, per Cerave.
“Yes, I’m putting diaper cream on my face and yes, you should too,” Eleni said.
“We are going to be using a zinc oxide-based cream to heal and repair the skin as well as moisturize,” she said.
Eleni used a hydrating mask on her skin before using the diaper cream for slugging.
“Instead of putting Vaseline or Aquaphor, I’m just putting this right on my face,” she said.
“Get it everywhere,” the cosmetic injector continued. “Get it over your eyelids under your eyelids, over your lips, and don’t forget your hands.”
Eleni said it would take some time before it was completely rubbed in.
“You’re going to be sitting there rubbing it like crazy for a couple of minutes but it’s so worth it for that baby smooth skin in the morning,” she said.
The PA said it would be worth it in the end.
“Remember: The uglier you go to sleep, the prettier you wake up,” she said.
People in the comments section said the method works.
“As a girly with a history of horrible cystic acne and current hormonal acne/ breakouts this is legit and really works,” one person said.
“Every mom of an eczema baby knows this trick. It works,” a second wrote.
“Diaper rash cream is amazing for acne. Works so well. Also, I’m a side sleeper and it does not ruin my bedding,” a third posted.
