My double-wide tool is cheaper than a snow blower, it’s the quickest and easiest way to clear your sidewalk and driveway
THE son of a carpenter has demonstrated his clever hack for clearing sidewalks on snow days.
He said his double-wide tool will keep driveways pristine quickly and easily, without breaking the bank.
Meyers (@meyers.makes) filmed himself clearing the snow in a video on TikTok.
“This double wide shovel makes clearing snow much quicker and easier than a traditional shovel,” he said.
He explained why his method quickens the snow removal process.
“Instead of having to pick up and scoop the snow, you can simply just push it,” he said.
He also added that the double wide shovel touches more surface area to keep it clear.
“It clears four feet at a time,” he said.
A similar product called the Marshalltown Polar Pusher Snow Shovel can be found on Amazon, selling for $79.99.
The $79.99 price tag is significantly cheaper than most snow blowers, which can sell in the hundreds.
According to the CDC, “Shoveling snow is such strenuous exercise that, according to Harvard Medical School, an 185 pound person can expect to burn about 266 calories after just a half hour of shoveling.”
“Like any physical activity, shoveling snow poses health risks exacerbated, in part, by weather.”
To avoid some of the health risks, the CDC recommends using the proper tools.
“Use the right tool and the proper technique,” they said.
“Choose a shovel with a small, plastic blade. A shovel with a plastic blade will weigh less than a shovel with a metal blade.
“At the same time, a shovel with a small blade will limit you to small scoops.”
