I’m a cleaning whizz – you can dry clothes in your washing machine… and save money on energy bills
A SAVVY woman has revealed a great hack to dry clean clothes easily inside a washing machine.
While dry cleaning can be a lengthy and expensive process, this smark tip will mimic the same effects while saving both time and money.
Hazel Mckinnie, from cleaning company Wee Scotty Cleaners, shared a clip on TikTok in which she revealed the great hack.
She said in the video: “I am just going to show you one of these settings on this machine.
“It’s a Beko. I have had lots of expensive washing machines and I love Beko.”
Hazel then puts a three-piece suit inside the washing machine before putting a laundry pod.
The expert quipped: “Who knew that you could put your suit trousers in? I’ve got a suit jacket and I’ve got a men’s three-piece suit. This says dry clean only but I’m going to show you a wee trick.”
Hazel, who often posts such great cleaning hacks on her TikTok account, tweaked the setting to delicates wash which changed it to a spin setting at 800rpm, on a 40C wash.
“That’s all I want,” she said and waited for the cycle to finish.
After the wash was done, she shared the end results in the video saying: “The wash is finished and the clothes have washed up amazingly.
“Now all I have to do is hang them in a warm room and they will come up amazingly.
“All you have to do is maybe just a little steam.”
According to Hazel, the hack mimics the effects of dry cleaning without actually going the the process which can save users some money on energy bills.
While she uses a Beko washing machine, the same setting can be found on other appliances too across different brands.
So her hack could work on several different machines.
It comes after a cleaning whizz shared a hack for easily drying clothes in winter.
Lynsey Crombie, who is also known as the Queen of Clean, took to social media to share her tip, leaving many very impressed.
In the short clip, we saw Lynsey put her washing in the washing machine.
She then turned the dial to ‘spin and drain’, before pressing start.
The cleaning whizz then said: “Don’t forget that extra spin.
“The extra spin will help to remove as much water as possible from your laundry.
“[It will] reduce drying time, especially when washing heavy items such as jeans, towels and bedding.”
Lynsey used the Hotpoint washing machine and then advised: “Give it a try.”
