I thought I slayed in my work do dress but realised my mistake when I sat down – I had T-Rex arms the rest of the night
SHE pulled out all the stops for a work do, wowing in a skimpy red dress.
But it turns out Chrissie didn’t do all the relevant style tests before settling on an outfit for the prestigious event in Dubai.
And while the dress looked stunning while Chrissie was standing up – she hadn’t anticipated what it would look like when she sat down.
She took to TikTok to share the embarrassing situation, as she explained that the dress code was “glam” for the gala dinner at the Versace Palace.
After she and her friend navigated the shiny floors in their Louboutin heels, they made their way to their tables.
Chrissie then got the “wine on the go before the starters come out”.
“And this is where the trouble starts.
“As I listen to the founder give his opening speech, I start to realise that my wardrobe choice isn’t entirely ideal.
“Ladies, if you’ve ever tried on a dress standing up and it looks vaguely reasonable but neglected to test it sitting down, you’ll feel my pain right now.”
In a bid to avoid flashing everyone in the low-cut ensemble, Chrissie enlist the “T-Rex arms”.
That involved keeping her elbows firmly pinned to her side as she had her dinner, so that she could maintain her modesty.
And despite being very uncomfortable, Chrissie was successful in avoiding embarrassment in the dress until she got home and decided to “banish this dress forever more”.
“Always do the sit down check ladies,” Chrissie captioned the video.
People were quick to comment on the clip, with one laughing: “T Rex arms is brilliant!”
“I love your whole vibe!” another added.
“Gorgeous, well spoken, positive vibes!”
“Almost a fail… however….!” someone else commented.
“You look beautiful! Hope you had a wonderful night!” a third praised.
It’s not the first time that Chrissie has been left red-faced thanks to her outfit choice.
Around 12 years ago, she was a trainee at a company, when she was invited to a Christmas party with her colleagues.
“I think at that point, I possibly never been to a formal dinner event like that,” she said in another TikTok.
“And I thought the dress code was gonna be kind of fun vibe.”
So she opted for a black lace dress, which she thought was suited to the dress code at the time, but now acknowledges that it was more like a nightdress.
And when she realised her error, she called it a night early, instead of going for drinks with her colleagues after the bash.
