I got a Laneige dupe from Trader Joe’s – I’m bummed it’s limited-edition, get it before they run out
A BEAUTY enthusiast has sworn that she will never buy from Laneige after finding a dupe of one of their most popular products.
She demonstrated applying a skincare item that could easily be mistaken for Laneige’s $29 lip sleeping mask.
Sisters Preeya and Simi (@sarnasisters) are steadily growing a following on their shared TikTok account.
Simi looked in good spirits as she applied a beauty product that she recently bought from her local Trader Joe’s.
“I want a Trader Joe’s beauty line so bad,” read the text over the screen.
“I would never buy Laneige when they make this.
“Save your money, get the new vanilla lip mask.”
“She goes where I go rn [right now]. It tastes so FREAKIN good,” she added.
Laneige’s lip sleeping mask in vanilla is priced at $29 on Look Fantastic, where it has a five-star rating.
It boasts of having “an ultra-nourishing formula that encourages soft, luscious lips.”
Meanwhile, Trader Joe’s vanilla lip mask costs just $5.99.
It contains shea butter, coconut oil, and vitamin E for keeping lips hydrated and soft without any stickiness.
Vanilla fruit extra is also listed as a key ingredient for ensuring its “fantastic” smell and taste.
Simi gushed about the budget-friendly buy in a follow-up video urging people not to splurge on the pricey alternative.
“It’s a good cheap alternative to the vanilla Summer Fridays or Laneige lip masks,” she said.
“This was $6 so I think it’s totally worth it in terms of not spending that much and I just don’t think it’s necessary.
“This is literally the same thing.
“I just line my lips and it’s super pretty and super hydrating.”
Thousands of viewers liked the videos and those who had already tried the lip mask raved about how impressed they were with it.
“One of my student’s parents gifted me this for Valentine’s Day and it’s literally better than Laneige,” one person wrote.
“It’s so good it smells better than Laneige vanilla,” another said.
“I got the VDay pack with two and yes definitely works just as well if not better than Laneige,” a third commented.
“It’s so good and I’m sad I’ll never have it again because it’s not a permanent product,” another added.
