Countryfile viewers left ‘shouting at the screens’ as they blast BBC for ‘ruining’ show with ‘patronising’ reports
COUNTRYFILE viewers were left ‘shouting at the screens’ as they blasted the BBC for ‘ruining’ the show with ‘patronising’ reports.
Sunday’s episode of the BBC show saw Matt Baker and Sammi Kinghorn mark the 200th anniversary of the RNLI.
The pair met volunteer members of Minehead’s station, who juggle their daily, busy lives with life-saving call-outs.
Meanwhile in the Cotswolds, Adam Henson found out more about the UK’s first livestock bio-bank and how it will help preserve the nation’s rare breeds.
Another segment saw Joe Crowley find out about Internal Drainage Boards.
However, despite the important topics, some Countryfile viewers were left furious, and took to X – formerly Twitter – to complain.
One wrote: “i can [think] of dozens of better endings than f***ing sea shanties #countryfile”.
Another shared a picture of Batman slapping someone who had said ‘So…” with the superhero replying: “Sentences don’t start with ‘So’!”
The caption read: “I really could slap the TV when I hear this” to which someone replied: “An absolute pet hate of mine.
“I started shouting at Countryfile last night, when someone was using it to start every clause of every sentence.”
They weren’t the only ones shouting at the TV, as another shared a gif of The Office US character Dwight Schrute screaming at the camera and wrote: “This week’s episode #Countryfile”.
A fellow viewer tweeted: “Actually switched off Countryfile tonight because of the RNLI, such a shame a great charity with 100s or even 1000s of volunteers has been taken over by the Woke Brigade.”
Meanwhile another Countryfile viewer wrote: “(seems a bit patronising).”
Countryfile airs Sundays on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
