Brightline introduces Wine Wednesday Happy Hour & cocktail tastings
This is “Small Bites,” a South Florida Sun Sentinel feature with tiny tidbits on the food and beverage scene — because we know that sometimes you just don’t have room for a long article. You want a little news brief instead, an amuse bouche of information, if you will. Enjoy!
WHAT:
For Brightline travelers who want to “wine down” before they get on the train, the rail service is offering special tastings and a discount in March.
Travelers get 50% off on glasses of wine during Happy Hour each Wednesday. In addition, Brightline’s Mary Mary bars will host wine tastings by the European wine grower Vranken Pommery Monopole, featuring its Pink Flamingo Rosé.
Don’t want wine? There will also be themed cocktails at select stations.
WHEN/WHERE:
Happy Hour will be from 4 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday. The Vranken tastings will begin at the Fort Lauderdale station on March 13, West Palm Beach on March 20, and Orlando on March 27.
Non-wine tastings coming up include the following:
- March 15 — For National Espresso Martini Day, Brightline will offer a sampling of the Dobel Espresso Martini at its Miami, West Palm Beach and Orlando stations from 4 to 6 p.m.
- March 16 — For St. Patrick’s Day, Brightline has partnered with Jameson to host Jameson Orange Spritz tastings from 2 to 4 p.m.
- March 16-29 — All Mary Mary Bar locations will serve the official cocktail of the Miami Open, the Ace Paloma, and offer themed giveaways of hats, T-shirts and more.
- March 27 — On National Whiskey Day, select Mary Mary Bar locations will host Woodford Reserve tastings.
COST:
Glasses of wine will be $5 to $9, a 50% discount. Several food items will be offered to pair with the wine, including Burrata Tomato Salad ($12), a Mini Charcuterie Plate ($11) and Chips and Salsa ($6).
