Amber Alert issued for missing West Chester children
WEST CHESTER, Ohio (WDTN) -- An Amber Alert is now in effect by the West Chester Police Department.
Police are looking for Sara Herrera, 1, of West Chester, along with the mother, Maoly Toscano Hererra, 17. They are believed to be traveling with the father, Bayron Tejeda, 22, of Akron according to police.
Sara is described as standing at 2 feet and weighing 45 pounds and wearing a purple hoodie and pink pants. Maoly stands at 5 foot 4 inches, weighs 230 pounds. She was wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants.
The father stands at 5 foot, weighs 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white denim jacket and blue jeans.
All three individuals have brown eyes and black hair.
They were last seen Monday around 4:30 a.m. in West Chester. Authorities say the suspected vehicle is a white full-size pickup truck.
The mother and daughter were placed in emergency-based foster care from Akron in Summit County. According to police, the placement was due to an incident of domestic violence.
"Both Maoly Toscano and her daughter Sara are believed to be in danger due to an alleged history of severe domestic violence by Bayron Tejeda.," said a release.
