I’m over 50 and my drugstore primer combo fills in my fine lines and wrinkles – it also makes my makeup last all day
A MEMBER of the over 50 club was loving her look thanks to a few affordable drugstore products.
She was also open to spilling the beauty beans so that others could get the same anti-aging glow-up.
“Primer hack over 50. Because there’s no gatekeeping here, I’m going to share with you one of the best primer hacks for over 40, over 50, and above that I have tried,” said Jenn (@powerandpixiedust).
And she made clear that she had tried her fair share of products to keep her skin looking plump.
She also wasn’t sure if it was the combination of items or one product in particular that was responsible for the magic but she wasn’t one to question an anti-aging miracle.
“I do them altogether and I’m telling you it helps fill in my fine lines and wrinkles and helps keep my makeup lasting all day long,” she said.
Even after five hours of wear, Jenn’s primer combo was still keeping everything in place.
All she found herself reapplying so far was a touch of lipgloss.
She showed off her first drugstore product – Elf luminous putty primer.
“I like a nice glow so the luminous works great for me,” she said.
The $10 Elf luminous putty primer is described as offering a velvety finish for a radiant, poreless, and flawless complexion.
The product that promises a shine-free matte look also had plenty of glowing reviews.
“Love this illuminating putty primer! It glides on so soft, like butter. Feels great on the skin, not heavy. Doesn’t pill underneath makeup,” wrote one customer.
“I like this for my cheeks and nose where my pores are largest. I think it does a good job filling in,” another buyer chimed in.
After letting the product set, she applies her next favorite find, the Elf power grip primer made with niacinamide.
And she wasn’t about to waste even one tiny drop of the wrinkle removing product.
“This is my third tube and I am squeezing this stuff out,” she said.
Also just $10, the Elf power grip primer is composed of a formula meant to grip makeup for a long-lasting, dewy finish.
The translucent gel is said to work on all skin tones.
One that has set as well she uses some NYX matte setting spray.
“I love this stuff, it works great,” she said.
Still, Jenn advised that it was okay to experiment with other products for your own skin.
The NYX matte finish spray that sells for $9.99 at Target is a lightweight spray designed to lock in makeup all day.
Once her setting spray dries, she applies the rest of her makeup to achieve her ultimate youthful glow.
“This is a really a primer hack that for me works every single time,” she said.
Her fans were also giving her primer routine a perfect score.
“Omg! I have tried all the expensive brands, this is by far the best hack ever. My makeup lasts all day. Thank you!” said one follower.
“I’m 51 and you’re so on point I use this combo and love it!” said another watcher.
“Works every time!” she replied.
