Officers responded to a residence on West Street in Bristol around 7:20 a.m. for a domestic incident, according to the Bristol Police Department.
Officers learned through victim and witness statements that one person involved in the disturbance was allegedly choked and stabbed the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Kevin Ricks, in self-defense, police said.
Ricks fled the scene after allegedly brandishing a firearm toward the victim, witnesses told police.

Upon his discharge from the hospital, Ricks was placed into custody and processed on charges of criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree strangulation, possession with intent to sell narcotics and second-degree breach of peace, police said.
