SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 59-year-old woman has been identified as one of the two victims whose body parts were found scattered in Suffolk County, police said Monday.
The remains of Donna R. Conneely were found in different locations in Suffolk County on Feb. 29 and March 5, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Conneely was last known to have lived in Yonkers, police said.
The identity of the 53-year-old man whose body parts were also found scattered in Suffolk County is still awaiting confirmation from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, authorities said.
Body parts belonging to the two victims were found at Southards Pond Park in Babylon on Feb. 29, authorities said. More of their remains were found on March 5 in a wooded area across from 103 Lakeway Dr. in West Babylon as well as at Bethpage State Park, according to police.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the case. Forty-four-year-old Steven Brown, 38-year-old Jeffrey Mackey, 40-year-old Amanda Wallace, and 33-year-old Alexis Nieves have all been charged with concealment of a human corpse, hindering prosecution, and tampering with physical evidence, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
None of the suspects have been charged with murder. However, sources expected the addition of murder charges soon, following a grand jury presentation.
All four suspects were released without bail after they were arraigned, which reignited the debate about bail reform in New York.
