Louis Walsh reveals very cheeky question he asked Kate Middleton in surprise Celebrity Big Brother revelation
LOUIS Walsh revealed a very cheeky question he asked Kate Middleton in tonight’s Celebrity Big Brother.
The X Factor judge, 71, has kept viewers entertained over the last week on the ITV1 reality show with his anecdotes about famous folk from Simon Cowell to Jedward and Ronan Keating.
And now he has shared his experience of meeting the Princess of Wales.
In a chat with Fern Britton, Louis revealed he wants to know how Kate Middleton is after her recent bout of ill health.
Louis said: “I just want to know about Kate Middleton. I know she’s a lovely lady.”
Fern agreed, saying “I’d love to meet her”, which prompted Louis to reveal how he broke royal protocol with a cheeky question when he was granted an audience with the Princess.
He confessed: “I [met her] last year at the Chelsea Flower Show. I asked her if she called her son after me.”
Fern laughed and replied: “Of course, Prince Louis! Did she say yes?”
Louis then told how Kate responded, saying: “No but she was charming. She’s a beautiful, beautiful girl.”
Fern added how much she admired the future Queen, given the legacy she will inherit from Prince William‘s mum, the late Diana.
She said: “What big shoes to step into with Diana.”
Louis nodded, adding, “Who would want it?”
“And wearing the iconic engagement ring,” Fern agreed. “It’s a heavy duty isn’t it?”
Sharon Osbourne then weighed in, saying “Imagine if that had gone to Meghan?”
Louis pulled a face and slated the Duchess of Sussex, saying: “Does anybody like her, apart from Harry?”
Their conversation comes as public speculation went into overdrive recently about Kate’s health.
The Princess of Wales was admitted for an abdominal procedure in January 2024, just weeks after her last public appearance on Christmas Day.
She underwent successful surgery and was said to be “doing well” in hospital following the operation.
But after weeks went by without any sightings, rumours spread like wildfire on social media.
A photo of Kate with children Charlotte, George and Louis was shared on Mother’s Day.
Many people noticed that some parts of the image looked photoshopped, which led to news agencies ordering a “kill notice” on the snap.
Kate then released a statement to address the frenzy of speculation.
She said: Like many amateur photographers I do occasionally experiment with editing.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
