I’m always asked how to get rid of dark under-eye circles – my go-to French ‘lifesaver’ targets all possible causes
A BOARD-CERTIFIED medical doctor has revealed the eye cream she recommends for targeting all the possible causes of dark circles.
She demonstrated applying the skincare product as she explained how to spot the different types of under-eye concerns.
Dr. Zion Ko Lamm (@dr.zionko) boasts almost 754,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty advice.
“I get asked all the time how do I treat my dark circles and what do I recommend to my patients,” she said.
“What people don’t realize is that there are different types of dark circles and treatment should be tailored to your specific type.
“Here I am using Caudalie’s new Vinoperfect brightening eye cream and this actually targets all types of dark circles.”
Vinoperfect dark circle brightening eye cream with niacinamide is priced at $55 on the Caudalie website.
It contains viniferine and caffeine to brighten and hydrate the under-eye area and comes with a cooling ceramic applicator to reduce puffiness.
The brand recommends applying it morning and evening to the eye contour.
Dr. Zion gently worked the product into her skin as she spoke about its benefits.
“There are pigmented dark circles that have that black, brown hue and that is due to increased melanin,” she said.
“Versus the vascular type that has a purple, blue hue, and that’s due to increased blood vessels or thinning of the under-eye lids.
“This brightening eye cream has viniferine, caffeine, and niacinamide, which targets all types of dark circle concerns.
“Viniferine is a natural antioxidant that is 62 times more effective than vitamin C at brightening dark circles.
“Caffeine and the cool ceramic tip help with mico circulation of the under-eye area.
“Niacinamide keeps the under-eye area hydrated.
“This eye cream and the Vinoperfect serum combo has been a life-saver this last trimester of my pregnancy.”
Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting costs $82 on the French skincare brand’s website.
Over 7,600 people liked the video and many commenters said they would try the products.
According to Healthline, dark circles can affect anyone but are more common in older adults, those with a genetic predisposition to the condition, and people with darker skin tones.
They typically aren’t a cause for concern but you may want to speak to a doctor or dermatologist if they get darker or swell.
