I work at Greggs – there’s so many perks including free coffee and steak bake lunches, but there’s a major downside too
A PAIR of Gregg’s employees have revealed the best things about working at the cafe – including free coffee when they’re on shift.
Jumping on the latest viral trend, the duo took to TikTok to share a video of some of the perks of their jobs.
“We work at Greggs. Of course I eat a steak bake for lunch every day,” one woman began, tucking into one of the meat-filled favourites.
Another employee revealed that she “dreams about” the pepperoni pizza in store.
And another perk she enjoys is being able to indulge in as much coffee she wants when she’s in work.
But there are downsides to the job as well, as one Greggs worker admitted she’s “covered in flakes” of pastry for “80% of the day”.
“We work at Greggs,” the video shared on the official Greggs account was captioned.
“Of course we were going to jump on this trend!”
People were quick to comment on the video, with many pointing out that the two women weren’t wearing hairnets – a requirement of the job for hygiene purposes.
“I work at Greggs. Of course I’ve noticed they’re not wearing hair nets,” one wrote.
“I work at Greggs, of course I notice them wearing jewellery, watches and not wearing their hairnets,” another added.
“Where’s the hair nets?” a third commented.
“I work at Greggs, of course I notice the lack of hairnets,” someone else wrote.
“We work at Greggs, of course we expected the hairnet police to comment,” the Greggs account hit back.
Others admitted they wouldn’t be adverse to taking on a job at Greggs, thanks to the perks.
“The Pepperoni pizza is goated,” one wrote.
“I wanna work at Greggs and get a steak bake for lunch every lunch,” another added.
“Free coffee on shift?” a third asked.
“Might be enough to claw me out of Maccies!”
But others used the comments section to share what they dislike about the cafe.
“Can you bring back the old cheese and salad sandwiches?” one wrote.
“Greggs is just so tasteless now!”
“Every time I’ve gone to Greggs the foods been cold,” another added.
“Make the sausage rolls £1 again £1.20 is an absolute disgrace,” a third commented.
“Steak bake are so badd,” someone else raged.
