I do Amal Clooney’s eyebrows – I never wax clients & hate brow gel, my tips will grow them back if they’re too thin
THE brow expert who can take credit for making Amal Clooney, Lea Michele, and Olivia Culpo look great is sharing her tips for fuller, more fabulous brows.
Sania Vucetaj revealed how to fill them in if you’ve overwaxed — and why she warns against waxing in the first place.
Instead of trends such as microblading or tinting, the founder of Sania’s Brow Bar believes in taking brows back to the beginning.
“It’s about not getting product on the eyebrow and cleansing the right way to let the follicle breathe. Biotin especially can help stimulate growth,” Vucetaj told The U.S. Sun.
“The results are amazing, but you have be patient and give it six months to a year for hair to start growing back.
“I have 75-year-old clients who are still trying to grow out their brow hairs.”
WAX ON, WAX OFF
In Sonia’s world, waxing is a bad word.
“We don’t wax, we tweeze only,” she said.
“We have an organic approach that focuses on creating the best version of the brows but in a healthy way.
“Microblading does not age well and waxing will make the brow grow thinner. We don’t do anything but tweeze.
“It has to be done in a very light and airy motion. We always say to tweeze outside of the lines.
“I personally would say if you can’t find someone you like in your area, you’re better to do it yourself and know when to stop, because if not, the damage can be permanent for the rest of your life.”
STOP OBSESSING
Sometimes the best thing to do is just nothing at all.
“You need to start over and leave everything alone. It’s important to let brows breathe,” she said.
“People are oversaturating their brows with products that really should be avoided because they get on the follicle.
“It’s similar to the scalp — it should be kept free of serums and moisturizers.
“Anything like skincare, makeup, or a powder texture can seep into the skin. Also, make sure not to use sunscreen over the brow area.”
She also says that brow gels are the “worst thing ever created for brows.”
BOW TO THE BROW
In a now-viral TikTok, she blew people’s minds by shedding light on the fact that it only takes two weeks to get licensed as a hair removal and waxing technician.
It seems that for the Vucetaj clan, good brows are in the blood.
Her woman-led shop is now a family business that her daughters and nieces have helped to grow following her brow growing success.
Sonia makes sure every hire goes through rigorous “boot camp style” training with her.
She also gets to the root of every hair problem.
“Just let your brows grow back and do some shaping,” she said.
“Some celebs have horrible brows but the best and healthiest ones are the fuller ones. It’s about getting them to a healthy place and not continuing to ruin them.”
DON’T FLAKE
Sonia, who has been helping to grow brows back better for 32 years, also wants to focus on flakiness.
She even launched her own brow shampoo to combat the common problem.
“No one ever talks about flakey brows but our shampoo can help to control oiliness and restore their fluffiness,” she said.
“Just leave it in the shower and use it on your brows and even over your forehead. You can also add biotins to stimulate growth.
“Nothing drips down so it’s safe to use.”
AVOID THE PERMANENT
She also shares what brow techniques she has the biggest beef with.
“Microblading and tattooing can ruin people’s brows and you can be stuck with it forever,” she stressed.
“As gravity shifts, the lamination shape will change.
“People are paying money to get their brows destroyed with these things and then they ask why they still can’t get those celeb brows they see.
“Tinting has even been banned in a few states because it can get into the bloodstream.
“These are both damaging and things you will regret.”
PENCIL IT IN
Instead, Sonia has no problem with faking it — at least when it comes to using pencil.
She even created the first-ever angled pencil product that Kourtney Kardashian herself is a fan of.
“If you have stubborn grays just use a simple pencil. I created a powder and pencil in one that won’t ruin the follicle,” she said.
“Pencil is the easiest way to create shape and make them full and lush.
“Celebrities, like most people, don’t naturally have brows like that, they cheat with pencil all the time.
“Less is more when doing your brows and tweezing.
“For us, it’s all about growing brows back with honesty and integrity.”
