I’m 72 and my $2 DIY moisturizer is a dupe for a $29 buy – my skin feels like silk and my wrinkles are less noticeable
A 72-YEAR-OLD woman has shared her budget-friendly way to achieve youthful skin with a product she makes at home.
Her DIY anti-aging cream rivals a popular one on the market and fades her fine lines and wrinkles.
Sandy Marthaler (@sandrafmarthaler) shares tips to “declutter” all areas of your life in simple ways.
Part of that has to do with not investing in expensive or unnecessary skincare products.
She showed how she cuts back on costs and makes her own affordable anti-aging moisturizer in an Instagram Reel.
“Why are you spending so much money on your face?” she asked in a subtitle.
In the caption, Sandy described herself as a “natural person” who doesn’t like to put anything in or on her body that she can’t read or pronounce.
As an avid swimmer, she wanted a high-quality product that didn’t dry out her skin.
She previously used Boom Silk, $29, and thought it was “ridiculous” to spend that much money on a two-ounce jar.
This is exactly what spawned her to google the ingredients and duplicate it for much less money.
She revealed in the video that the top ingredients were beeswax pellets which she found on Amazon, olive oil, coconut oil, an essential oil, and Vitamin E.
“I’m not one of those who likes to spend $50,000 on my face. I don’t like to spend anything on my face actually,” she admitted.
Sandy gave an additional rave review in the video caption.
“I am happy! My skin feels so good! It really does feel like silk! and the wrinkles are much less noticeable! I use it on my hands, arms, and legs as well!” she wrote.
Viewers appreciated the anti-aging tip and several complimented her on your youthful appearance.
“I can’t wait to make this! Thank you for posting the info! I think you have fabulous skin to begin with,” one commented.
“Thank you so much. I need and I want to make this,” another said.
“Look at you decluttering the billion-dollar ‘beauty’ brainwashing!” a woman wrote.
