‘Best I’ve ever seen!’ gush Netflix fans as they binge-watch ‘underrated’ apocalyptic series in just one day
NETFLIX fans have praised a new ‘underrated’ apocalyptic series after binge-watching all three seasons in just one day.
Even though the show was released on the streaming service a while back, it is now getting the recognition it deserves.
The Facebook ‘Netflix Bangers’ group usually helps subscribers pick the best TV and films to watch on the streamer’s platform.
The current hot topic is a series titled The Rain, which was released on Netflix over six years ago and currently has a huge cult following.
Starring Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Alba August, and Evin Ahmad, The Rain is set in apocalyptic Scandinavia, where a rain-carried virus has wiped out almost everyone.
The original Netflix series starts some years after the devastating virus has plagued humanity.
The Rain’s official synopsis reads: “Six years after a rain-borne virus wipes out most of Scandinavia’s population, two siblings join a band of young survivors seeking safety — and answers.”
Despite being on Netflix for a while now, the hit series has only recently been discussed on internet forums.
Taking to the ‘Netflix Bangers’ page, one viewer wrote: “If you like apocalyptic movies/ shows the series The Rain on Netflix is a good watch.”
“This is one of the best series I’ve seen,” a second user remarked.
A third added: “The Rain is a great watch.
“Excellent young Danish and Swedish cast, including Alba August, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Evin Ahmad and Ardalan Esmaili. Loved it.”

Another user chimed: “Great series. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this show.”
The second season of The Rain received mixed reviews, but it was the successful first season that really set the tone.
The Decider reviewer, Sean T. Collins, wrote about The Rain and penned: “It’s not so much that The Rain breaks new ground for the postapocalyptic-dystopia narrative.
“It’s simply that it shows how much more ground there is to explore in that great big quarantine zone of a genre.”
Meanwhile, The Daily Beast’s Nick Schager Expressed: “Its confident storytelling provides plenty of hope.”
Most recently, Netflix confirmed that it is axing one of its most beloved comedies, which has come as a bittersweet shock to fans.
The streaming giant has insisted that the Spanish comedy Valeria will conclude after its upcoming fourth series.
The Rain is available to stream on Netflix now.
