Top 5 Moments of Episode 3:
1. Return from Tribal: Fun fact I learned today and found interesting: Yanu translates to “gifted” in South Africa. Given the Yanu tribe’s luck so far in this game, the irony was not lost on me. Fresh off of a second Tribal Council, the tribe was down two members, albeit dead weight, but they are truly gifted at chaos. The chaos continued immediately into the third episode as Bhanu Gopal was dejected after that last elimination. His tribemates told him that the fake idol was for his benefit and somehow managed to calm him down. Will this stop him from spilling information like a malfunctioning Furby at Tribal Council? According to him, no, but if he wants to get eliminated for buffoonery…who are we to complain. He is good television after all. The tribe was very aware that it was in a bad situation, had an emotional wildcard, and Kenzie Petty was the only glue holding the tribe together.
2. Camp Life: The Siga tribe all agreed to hunt for the idol together, which is just so sweet yet hilarious. Ultimately Jemila “Jem” Hussain-Adams hid the fact that she found it from her tribemates. In the dead of night, she investigated what needed to be done to complete the Beware Advantage, getting depressed that she was without a vote for the time being. At Nami, Hunter McKnight was deemed important as a provider, even though he was hiding his intelligence level. There also was a target on his back as Venus Vafa already could see that he was a force to be reckoned with down the road. Honestly, she won points in my book for this, but she probably should not act until he makes a few more of those beds. Randen Montalvo became injured overnight, which is never good, prompting medical to check him out. A trapped nerve was deemed the cause.
3. Immunity Time: This immunity challenge looked particularly arduous, so any tribe that won a reward and immunity more than deserved it. Everyone was excited for this one though, especially Yanu, who desperately needed a win. This is the type of challenge that made me glad that they cast this season so well since they made it look easy. Hunter was seemingly built for this and earned Nami immunity first. The race for second was close, but Charlie clinched it for Siga. Yanu was Tribal Council bound for the third time this season. In a twist, the winning tribe chose who went on a journey, sending Bhanu, Ben Katzman, and Liz Wilcox.

4. Who Has to Go: Yanu targeted Bhanu while he was off on his journey, which wasn’t surprising given his track record. Q Burdette volunteered himself to be voted out, blaming himself for the tribe’s loss in those last moments. His tribemates were not on board for this. Meanwhile, the journey trio bonded. Bhanu’s emotions caused the fellow journeymen to comfort him as they mined him for information. The task was more a game of chance, which made it even more interesting. In the end, Liz was sent back to camp as the guys competed for an extra vote, which Bhanu desperately needed at this point. Whomever failed would lose their vote at the next Tribal Council. Following yet another emotional moment, he failed to do so, leaving him back at square one. Liz returned to camp with gossip and was fully honest while Ben opted to lie. Bhanu was honest as well, much to the delight of his tribemates, but neglected to tell anyone but Q that he lost his vote.
5. An Emotional Exit: Jeff arriving at the beach meant bad news for Randen, as his injury was now deemed a radial nerve injury that could be a bulging disc in the neck. Naturally, this meant he needed to be pulled from the game, ending his “Survivor” season. As we have seen before, this might not be the last we see of him though as he might receive the Bruce Perreault treatment. Jeff informed Yanu, keeping Bhanu’s hopes (alive at least for a little longer).
