The Tony Osborne Memorial Youth Fund was created with collaboration between Ontario Cycling (OC) and the Newmarket Eagles Cycling Club in 2022 after the passing of founding member Tony Osborne.
Tony’s involvement in the cycling community was extensive of the years and included the opening of the Eagle Cycles bike shop in 1985 which eventually became the “Eagles” cycling club affiliation with OC in 1988.
As not only a recreational cyclist, but also a competitive racer Tony held the 2019 National Track Championships at the Milton Velodrome and the 2020 Provincial Track Championships where he won 2 bronze medals.
OC has created a funding grant program for event organizers and club/teams so they may apply for support geared to youth cycling in Ontario.
