Richard Madeley shows off new £54 haircut as he takes a break from GMB in London
RICHARD Madeley looked transformed following his new haircut on a break from Good Morning Britain.
The broadcasting legend was seen in London in the afternoon with a fresh trim and blow dry.
The breakfast presenter opted for a sleek and full bodied cut with a long, swept-back fringe and he flashed his salon receipt, revealing it didn’t come cheap at £54.
Richard, 66, was easy to spot on Thursday wearing distressed blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a body warmer style jacket.
Speaking to Gabby Logan on her Mid-Life podcast, he recently gave away his secrets to eternal youth.
“I think a large part of it is down to genetic luck,” said the grandad.
“I’ve got my hair because I’ve got my hair. I haven’t had hair implants.
“I’m occasionally accused of dying my hair blond. That does annoy me actually because it’s not true.”
He then went on to why he thinks his hair naturally lightens.
“We’re lucky, we have got a place in the south of France with a pool and there are chemicals that keep the pool fine,” he said.
“I find that if I’m in the south of France and I have a swim and then it dries in the sunshine it lightens it, it just does.”
Earlier this month Richard was replaced with Ed Balls during a break from Good Morning Britain.
Richard stunned viewers when he returned and revealed he had suffered a “freak accident”.
Welcoming him back last week, Susanna said: “You appear to have made a full recovery.”
Richard explained: “I had a freak accident, basically I was crouching down on a slope between my open car door, and I was just fiddling around with something at the bottom of the car door.
“I turned around as the door decided to close itself, and gravity pulled it shut, it’s a big heavy door and it hit me on the chin and I just really bit my tongue.
“To the extent that I needed stitches.”
Richard added. “I needed an operation, I had to have some stitches in it.
“So the reason I wasn’t here was because of this.
“It wasn’t pleasant actually, and eating and drinking was difficult.”
“And you actually had to have an operation to stitch it back together?” Susanna asked.
“Two stitches at the top and one at the side yes,” Richard replied.
