Brooklyn man pleads guilty to illegal firearm charge
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Brooklyn man has pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a firearm with a removed serial number, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. On Wednesday, Adam Gomez, 26, admitted to being in the possession of a Glock 17 handgun with an obliterated serial number while in the parking lot of an Albany County shopping mall on September 8, 2022.
Gomez now faces a maximum term of five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of post-release supervision of up to three years when he is sentenced. His sentencing is scheduled for a future date.
