Taiwan's defense ministry reported that 32 Chinese military aircraft were detected around the island within a 24-hour period, marking the second-highest number this year. Additionally, five naval ships were detected operating around Taiwan during the same period. Twenty of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan's armed forces responded by monitoring the situation and deploying patrol aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems. The increased military activity comes amid tensions following Taiwan's presidential election in January.
