Everyone can see the blanket, but you have 20/20 vision if you can spot the beds in the stars in under 15 seconds
IF you are struggling to get to sleep, try this game – it’s a great alternative to counting sheep.
In this brainteaser, everyone can see the blanket but can you spot the beds in the stars?
Set the timer now because you only have 15 seconds to complete the task.
Should you succeed before your time is up, give yourself a congratulatory slap on the back.
It means you have 20/20 vision and a high level of visual acuity.
For the rest of us mere mortals, all we can do is try our very best.
But the fun is in the playing, and that’s what we are going to do.
Nothing is wasted, however, because we are giving our brains a workout while we search for the answers.
Falling asleep and staying asleep can be a problem for many of us.
That’s why DFS has created some sleep-aiding brainteasers to help challenge the mind before you rest your head on the pillow.
This astrological brainteaser is the perfect end-of-night activity to unwind and support sleep.
Everyone knows the frustration of getting into bed, ready for a good night’s sleep, only to toss and turn into the early hours of the morning.
Lack of sleep – or sleep that’s poor quality – affects us in a range of ways, from decreased productivity to higher stress levels, and takes a toll on our mental health.
Sleeping problems appear to be on the rise, with DFS spotting that searches for ‘why am I tired all day’ increasing by 33% in the last year.
But there is a simple way to get back that well-rested feeling: puzzles.
They are the ideal way to relax and unwind after a long day.
The concentration required to solve a puzzle helps to quieten your mind and focus on the present moment, shutting out the stresses of everyday life.
Benefits of brainteasers and optical illusions
Researchers have developed many tests to show how various brain regions react to brainteasers and optical illusions. There are many benefits.
- They are not only entertaining, but they also shed light on how our brains interpret visual data.
- By giving your brain a little workout regularly, you enhance your ability to focus and observe details.
- Studies have shown people who regularly challenge themselves with optical illusions and puzzles see big improvements in their problem-solving skills, concentration, and attention.
- Improved concentration and attention span can help prevent cognitive decline in old age.
- Optical illusions can improve eyesight by allowing you to see small print.
They can also improve your short-term memory, enhance dopamine levels, and lower blood pressure and heart rate.
Dr Meg Aroll, a chartered psychologist, explained why brainteasers are perfect for encouraging sleep.
“The human brain has a cognitive capacity. In other words, there’s a limit to how many things we can focus on at once and this includes daily stressors and concerns,” she said.
“That’s why occupying the mind before bed with a brainteaser can be an excellent way to switch off a buzzing brain.
“When the brainteaser is just tricky enough, it will use a large proportion of conscious cognitive capacity and help distract from worries that can keep us up at night.
“Brainteasers also improve cognitive function and memory and lead to a sense of mastery, all of which contribute to improved psychological well-being,” she concluded.
To make dropping off at night a little easier, DFS has created a dreamy brainteaser.
Four of their luxury beds are hidden amongst a colorful pattern of constellations – to help aid relaxation and encourage good sleep.
Can you spot the four beds on this duvet?
It’s a dazzling night sky, but the beds are tricky to spot.
We can give you a clue. Split the picture into two halves lengthways.
For the first bed, study the left-hand corner.
The other three are located on the right-hand side, top, middle, and bottom.
If you are still struggling to find them, the solution is in the picture below.
Perhaps your enthusiasm has not yet been exhausted for more games like these.
We have plenty for you to choose from an expansive collection.
No matter your age, ability, or level of patience, there is a game to suit you.
We are staying home-bound for this next challenge.
In this task, everyone can see the row of houses, but can you spot the odd one out?
This brainteaser provides a real test for your observation skills as you race against the clock.
If you find the house in under ten seconds then you have a high IQ and one smart cookie.
It might seem like an impossible task on first appearance.
But we can give you a clue that might help.
All the houses have the letter ‘H’ above the door.
You are searching for one that is missing this letter.
Need a bigger hint? Study the houses on the left-hand side.
Well done if you have found it. If you are still struggling, the answer is circled below.
