Katie Price wades into Ekin-Su ‘bullying’ row after Celebrity Big Brother was hit with hundreds of Ofcom complaints
KATIE Price has had her say on claims Ekin-Su Culculoglu was bullied after her eviction from Celebrity Big Brother.
Some 139 people complained to broadcasting regular Ofcom after watching Ekin-Su grilled by Big Brother hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu as well as studio guests on spin-off show Late & Live.
The hosts were particularly firm with Ekin-Su, 29, after she claimed to be portrayed negatively in the edit, having not actually had a chance to watch the televised episodes.
Speaking on her The Katie Price Show podcast, former CBB housemate Katie has defended them.
Katie, 45, said: “To be honest, they were asking the questions, bloody good they did ask her that.
“Some people thought it was really bad and awkward but about time you got people asking questions and not pussyfoot around things. I thought: it’s good.”
During the interview, Will referred to Ekin as “Ekin Boo Hoo Hoo”, while AJ furiously hit back at her claims she was poorly edited.
AJ ruthlessly told her: “It’s interesting as you’ve literally just walked out of the house, you can’t have seen what’s been shown and what’s been said.
“But I can assure you that everything that has been seen and has been shown, has been said by you!”
Taking to social media to comment on the awkward interview, one fan wrote: “Ekin has done nothing to warrant being bullied.”
Another said: “The treatment towards Ekin on late and live was disgusting!
“AJ, Will are not meant to belittle the housemates that have left they are meant to interview them and they way they treated Ekin was awful.”
A third said: “Very uncomfortable to watch. I felt so sorry for Ekin.”
And a fourth added: “At this point, Ekin is getting bullied for no reason.”
Ekin-Su also clashed with Strictly star Layton Williams on the show, who couldn’t resist a dig about her reaction to being picked by Marisha during face-to-face nominations.
After the shock twist Ekin-Su made it clear she was upset with Marisha, 38, as she believed they were close friends.
But Layton insisted she had no right to get upset after nominating pal Louis Walsh – despite Ekin-Su insisting he was keen to leave the house.
Layton quipped: “She had to pick someone just like you picked Louis.
“Louis squashed it and kind of kept it moving and, unfortunately, you dragged it on.”
Last night evicted housemate Marisha Wallace defended Ekin-Su, claiming she “went through hell” in the house.
The stage star was asked by comedian Eddie Kadi on Late & Live if Ekin-Su’s emotional outburst after their face to face nominations was genuine.
Ekin-Su, 29, broke down in tears and clashed with Marisha after the latter nominated her to her face, despite them being friends.
Marisha said: “She was really going through hell, babe. She was really crying. You can’t see everything when you’re there. When I came she was crying into a teddy bear, so it was very intense.”
Jordan North asked if she felt like telling Ekin to grow up.
“I’m not nasty,” said Marisha. “Obviously, she was really upset, but I don’t think it was about the nomination. I think it was a trauma response. When somebody has been betrayed in the past and then someone else is betraying me and then you go back to all your previous traumas.
“I’m like I’m not your boyfriend, I’m not your whatever but those things come back to you. And we’re in this heightened, high pressure thing with no support system, you don’t have your friends, you might snap.”
Ekin-Su split up with boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti just weeks before taking part in the show.
Though they released amicable statements, it is believed Ekin was hurt by Davide liking the pictures of a glamorous OnlyFans model on social media.
