Horror moment Philadelphia rapper Phat Geez is gunned down in hail of shots outside his home as fans gather for funeral
THE murder of rapper Phat Geez was caught on a home security camera which police hope will help them identify his killer.
Geez, whose real name is Derrick Gant was shot on Sunday night in Brewerytown, Philadelphia.
Footage of his death was captured by a Ring camera which was obtained by CBS News affiliate KYW-TV.
In the video, the rapper can be seen exiting a house and walking up to a parked car on the 1200 block of North Taney Street.
The pair were already engaged in an argument before he reached the car.
He was then shot by the person inside the car several times.
The shooter continued to fire at the rapper once he was already on the floor shouting in pain before driving off.
Cops were called to the scene on March 17 where they found the 28-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center but was pronounced dead at 10:30 pm.
No arrests have yet been made by the Philadelphia Police Department but cops hope that the Ring footage will help identify Gant’s killer.
Police have not identified any suspects in the shooting and are appealing for those with any information to come forward.
A $20,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and a conviction.
