THE atmosphere at The Blade is pretty subdued as we deal with the loss of our leader, Kurt Franck, president, general manager, and executive editor. I've had the pleasure to know Kurt since he came on board. Not just through the editorial department where he hand wrote birthday cards to all the staff, and was always open to talking whenever I needed him, day or night, but also when he was out and about at business and community functions that I attended.
