Tension arose between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Congress over the Sangli Lok Sabha seat, with Congress MLA Vikramsinh Sawant announcing a boycott of the Shiv Sena-led rally. Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray is set to address a rally in Sangli and has invited Maha Vikas Aghadi partners, including Congress, to participate. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has hinted at wrestler Chandrahar Patil as its candidate, while Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole stated that his party will field Vishal Patil. Sawant expressed that since the Shiv Sena (UBT) unilaterally declared its candidate, Congress will not attend the rally.
