I’m pregnant & make £80k a month from my lazy girl job – it ticks over while I’m sleeping & if I can do it, so can you
A SAVVY MUM-TO-BE has shared how she rakes in an astronomical £80k every month thanks to her special ”lazy girl job”.
What if you could make a fortune in your sleep – and not just in your dreams but also wake up with your bank account loaded?
Well, according to one woman, Maddy Glynn, that’s possible – not only does she not work whilst pregnant but she also claims to make on average, a staggering £80k every month.
Taking to TikTok, the mum-to-be explained that she’d started a business where she didn’t need to be actively working to have money coming in – instead, she’s focusing on finding a way to generate passive income.
In the video, Maddy, who posts under the username @maddyglynn, claimed that she typically earns ”thousands” every day – and all whilst she’s either chilling in her bed, catching up on her favourite TV shows or even shopping for her baby.
Maddy, who started the business around four years ago, said she was beyond grateful that it gives her all the freedom, especially as she has to deal with ”the constant nausea and exhaustion” from being pregnant.
”I couldn’t imagine dealing with that and having to go into the office for eight hours every day.”
What’s more, not only does this ”lazy girl job” rake in loads of money, as well as time, the mum-to-be noted that everyone can do it.
Maddy, who had always known she was meant to be for ”the big life”, said that after being a realtor for around a year, she started dropshipping business.
Despite having less than £800 to her name, Maddy went for it – and luckily, within just six months of launching it, the gamble paid off, as she’d raked in £80k.
What is dropshipping?
To sum it up, dropshippers sell goods through a website or online marketplace, such as Amazon, but don’t see the products they’re making cash from.
Instead, the stock is stored and shipped by a third-party supplier.
Dropshippers are a essentially middleman between suppliers and those buying the goods – and depending on the mark-up on the items, they can make a decent amount of money.
If you have the right tools and resources, the reduction in overhead costs means setting up such business is relatively easy.
After launching this business, Maddy quit her job as a realtor and has since made more money than she ”could have ever imagined” just by working ten hours every week.
”It has just completely transformed my entire life.”
The mum-to-be has used some of the money to buy her dream home by the beach, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, as well forked out for a stunning wedding ceremony in Hawaii.
What is dropshipping?
Dropshipping is an online business model where the seller doesn’t keep inventory on hand.
Instead, they purchase items from a third-party wholesaler or manufacturer.
You still get the profit and financial benefit of owning an online store without many of the upfront costs that manufacturing and shipping entails.
The work is predominantly work from your laptop at home, and you can constantly add items to your portfolio without paying more to sell them.
However, there is still a risk of difficult supplier relationships and your profit margins becoming lower if your supply chain is too long.
You also have low control over customer experience.
How to start a dropshipping business in six steps:
1. Choose a business concept
A business concept describes what you are selling and who your customer is.
Since there are so many options, you want to start with a limited number of products that you feel will sell to a specific demographic in mind.
2. Source products
According to Forbes, it’s also advised to look for multiple distributors that sell similar products to find the best wholesale price.
Some of the most popular marketplaces are:
- AliExpress
- SaleHoo
- Worldwide Brands
Choose an item that excites you, and one that has a good margin for profit and displays nicely in the images.
A number of these suppliers will also provide statistics of popular items – so you can pick things that are more likely to sell, seeing as there’s already a demand for them.
3. Select suppliers
With the goods now picked, it’s time to choose the supplier that will ship the products to your shoppers.
There are some things to consider with the supplier you choose, including quality, profitability, reliability, as well as return policy.
Build an online store
Those keen to start this business will also need to build an e-commerce store.
This is a site that’s designed to help you display the products for sale in a way that will make the customer purchase the item, while possessing the shopping carts necessary to run the transactions made.
To make the online store, you will need:
- A content management system – (CMS), such as WordPress, Shopify or Squarespace
- A domain name
- Web hosting (if using WordPress)
- Integrations with your chosen dropshippers
- A built-in payment gateway to accept online payments.
Register your business
Although in an ideal world you’d wake up to see that thousands of people have found your business overnight, it doesn’t really work like that in real life.
To make the most profit, you will need to market the business – and social media is a great tool for this.
Post regularly about new products, sales or tips and tricks on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
