Swearing-in ceremony includes second-ever Cohoes woman firefighter

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three police personnel received new assignments and four firefighters were sworn in in Cohoes on Wednesday at Cohoes City Hall. Briana Bowen was sworn in as Cohoes' second female firefighter in the city's history.

"It's extra meaningful for me," said Bowen. "I'm very proud to say I'm the second female firefighter in the City of Cohoes. Hopefully, it opens the floodgates and there's a bunch more to follow."

Andrew Britt was promoted to Sergeant, as Scott McKown and Robert Piazza received new assignments on the police force in the swearing-in ceremony.
