Strangers always make the same creepy comment about my baby son – it’s icky & never happened with my little girl
A MUM-OF-TWO has shared the ”creepy” remark strangers make to her son which she’s never heard with her daughter.
Alysse Gilbert, from the US, claimed that when her baby boy smiles at a person in public, they’ll often say the little tot is ”flirting” with them.
In the video, the mum noted that not only does she find the comment ”weird”, but that this has also never happened with her daughter.
”Like no, he’s actually just a happy kid,” the mum-of-two hit back at the odd comment.
However, Alysse’s reaction saw fellow social media users totally divided – whilst some saw no harm in it, other mums claimed they’ve also experienced a similar comment, which made them feel ”uncomfortable”.
In the clip, the mum said: ”Any time I’m in public and I have my son with me, if he remotely smiles at a stranger, I swear the comment I get is “He’s such a flirt’, ‘He’s flirting with me”.
”And I’m like Diane, you’re nearing 65 and he’s a baby, he’s not flirting with you, it’s bizarre to me,’ does anyone else find that comment so weird?”
Hundreds of parents were quick to agree with the US-based Alysse, insisting that their children, both boys and girls, have also received the same comment.
”YES, it’s an icky comment,” one parent wrote, whilst a second said it makes them ”feel uneasy”.
Another mum chimed in the discussion: ”People always tell me “they’re gonna take my daughter home with them” like actually no ma’am you are not.”
Someone else wrote: ”I get that comment with my daughter and it makes me go from 0 to 100. I say ‘No, she’s FRIENDLY’.”
However, whilst for the most part people agreed with Alysse, others took no issue with the statement.
”I think ‘flirt’ can mean teasing playfully, or trying to draw attention by being cute without the sexual connotation,” one shared their thoughts.
”I use the word flirting in a ‘they’re trying to dazzle you’ kind of way,” another penned.
”My kids are always trying to dazzle everyone with smiles. I say they’re flirting, but no one thinks I’m trying to marry them off.”
”I feel like flirting can be used as a platonic term and doesn’t always indicate sexual attraction, I know it can be weird sometimes but I don’t think it’s always meant in a weird way,” a third added.
Recently, another mum took the internet by storm after sharing that she won’t stop wearing tiny bikinis at home, in the presence of her 13-year-old son.
Gym super fan Sophie Guidolin is a bodybuilder, and regularly shows off her toned muscles in bikinis in bodybuilding competitions.
The 34-year-old fitness pro has been previously slammed online over a photo taken of her hugging the 13-year-old son, whilst wearing a teeny bikini.
In more recent video, the muscular goddess could be seen sporting a skimpy red bikini encrusted with diamantes in the hallway of her home.
Hitting back at the trolls, the fitness guru said: ”Lol, remember when the media tried to shame me for wearing a bikini in front of my son… forgetting I was an #ifbbbikinipro (female bodybuilder) and I do this as a sport.
“My son doesn’t sexualise my body so why do others.
“This my friends is 13 years of hard work.”
